Sticky: Blog Info/Rules/How-Tos

Ok ppl. Here is your wonderful esmscc mod again.. There are so many changes made to the blog that are posted in various entries that cluttered most of the posts, so this entry will pose as a guide to all info about esmscc.blogspot.com. This sticky will be conveniently located under the archives heading. So, if you do forget how to log in, do this or do that, feel free to look this sticky up.

I wouldn't want to set up too many rules so & so since that would impede our creativity blaa blaa. Plus, I doubt we'll ever write stuff that would hurt one another. Basically, just leave your signature or name at the end of your entry so all of us know who posted it. Unless you're using your personal blogger.com account to post in entries..

So, here are some of the useful stuff to get you going into the blog. Happy posting!

Logging In
This is the most important to our blog members. To post entries, one must log in according to the following username/password. This will be a general account & only entry posting option is available. To edit your already posted entries. just pass me a message & I'll help edit the necessary changes.

username: esmscc.ri
password: ********** (same as before,if you do forget,juz sms zarir)

Another method to log in to post is via your google account. So, if you're a gmail user or have a google account & have yet to receive an invite to be a contributor to the blog, just give me a shout or an email and an invite will be on your way. From there, you can log in to blogger.com thru the goole account and you're set to post in the blog.

Next Match Info
If you all have noticed, this info block is set at the top right hand side of the blog. This will be constantly updated thru any info received via sms, hear-say etc. Any mistakes, just give me a shout.

How To Post A Pic In A Blog Entry
At the top right hand corner of the post entry input, click on Compose and you'll get to a menu as per below. From there, click the circled button and load up the pic into the blog & you're all set!

Just remember, the posted pics shouldn't be too large (ie in RAW format etc). Plus you can also add youtube videos into the blog as well by copy-pasting the embed script provided by the service.

Tagboard
Located at the right hand side of the blog, this will provide a quick & easy way to post comments. This feature will be free to all, including to non esmscc members. Hopefully there'll be no spam. To spice up your tagboards shouts, you can add avatars (the small picture beside your entry) by filling in "Name & Web URL entries" before every tags and pass me a small pic. For the "Web URL" you can input any decent internet site or your own personal blog.

Posting Comments
This feature can be found at the end of each post. Click on the Comments button and post what you think of the entry. I believe this feature is for blogger.com members. So, you can log in thru the esmscc account. Pls leave behind your name after your comments as a gesture of courtesy. Fyi, this feature is not really popular since the tagboard provides faster & more interactive input.

This sticky is not really fool-proof nor very complete, so if you all have any other stuff to contribute, pls do so by giving me a shout or e-mail me. No problem. Once in a while, the sticky will be updated so do look out for any changes. Thanks for taking your time to read this=)

The club was founded by a group of Malay boys from Raffles Institution's 2001 & 2002 graduating batches who enjoys each other's company as well as sharing a strong special bond that is soccer.

After years of playing recreational soccer matches on the school's astro turf & basketball court, it was decided that they establish a full-fledged competitive 11-a-side team worthy of challenging any team that stand in their way. In 2001, a newly-formed unnamed soccer club comprising of those boys emerged and played their first 11-a-side friendly against Beatty Secondary. From then on, there was no turning back.

Countless other friendly matches followed. However, being unnamed seems very amatuer-ish, and to fully leave behind their fledgling status, the name ESMSCC was born. The acronym, that stands for English Speaking Malay Soccer Cultural Club, was originally conceived during one of their casual discussions in their school-based clubhouse. The oxymoronic term of the name seems befitting at that time and was an identity that had reflected the majority of the club members.

In mid 2002, the club officially took on the name and came up with their very first team jerseys comprising of sky blue top and white shorts. The colours chosen reflect the club's aim to play resembling the fluidity of water as well as advocating match-fairness. Despite being separated into different junior colleges, the team still managed to find time to play together even throughout their national service. Close ties between team members are not only on-field, but off-field as well, with casual hang-outs, gym sessions, hari raya gatherings being some examples. Despite being predominantly Malay, the team has always adopted a selection policy that trancends race as well as age. Players of other races as well as those outside their batch are often invited and welcomed by the team. Through such diversification, the team grows even stronger and awaits the various challenges ahead.

With the establishment of Bolasepak RI Football Club in 2006, ESMSCC serves as the biggest and most active feeder service for the squad, providing 11 of the 25 current members in the roster. Despite the integration...
